Royal Tasting Notes of Asúa

High vividness and color intensity. Cherry color with purple reminiscences in the meniscus. On the nose its aromatic potential stands out, with ripe forest fruits appearing, with blackberries predominating, and also floral notes of violet intermingling with those from fine wood such as coffee, chocolates and balsamics. In the mouth it has a powerful attack but with a smooth mid palate marked by a silky and pleasant tannin, which gives us a broad aftertaste that allows us to continue enjoying the wine for a long time. In the glass it evolves, expanding its aromatic variety. The pairing is very wide, ranging from mere tasting to any kind of meat, including game.

General information

The grapes come from our Pagos in Rioja Alavesa, vineyards that are located around the new Viña Real winery. After a series of careful work in the vineyard and a good selection, we obtained some grapes of excellent quality, which allowed us to make this great wine. The variety is 100% Tempranillo, manual harvest in boxes and fermentation in small-capacity tanks, which allows us good control of the fermentation. Later, this wine passes into new French oak barrels where it carries out malolactic fermentation and where it remains for 18 months.

Tasting Notes Viña Real Payments

Intense burgundy maroon color. Attractive aromatic intensity with a wide variety of black fruits and licorice well complemented by fresh aromas from Atlantic forests such as cedar, cloves, cigar leaf, roasted coffee, etc. It shows a modern elegance that encourages us to taste it. The palate is fresh on the palate with a step marked by tannin and an acidity finish that leaves us with a long and complex aftertaste. It is a wine that does not need pairing, drinking it alone will give us a certain delight since in the glass it will gradually express its great aromatic variety.

General information

The 2015 harvest exceeds the two previous harvests in quantity. The year has passed with a favorable climate, resulting in a vegetative cycle that allows a good vintage to be expected. Both the summer months and the time of harvesting have been marked by more rain than expected. Once again, the preventive treatments carried out in our vineyards, such as thinning of clusters and defoliation, have allowed us to obtain a quality grape. The optimal time to harvest is at its beginning on September 23 with white and its continuation with ink until it ends with good prospects on October 22.
