Javier San Pedro Ortega He is a native of Laguardia and a winemaker by tradition and vocation. It comes from a family of winegrowers, being the fifth generation of the family that makes their own wines with grapes from their vineyards, since the San Pedro family owns more than 100 hectares of vineyard in the municipality of Laguardia.

That boy who, at 5 years old, began his career cleaning his grandfather's cellar, in 2005 he made his first wine, at the age of 17, in his father's cellar.

It is in the 2013 vintage, after eight years adding his personal touch to the wines of the family winery, that he decides to undertake his personal project, based on two well-differentiated ranges of wines. On the one hand, the range Wolf cave, which is defined by fun, aromatic and modern wines; and the range Black widow, which aims to recover old vineyards in the area, obtaining the highest quality from each plot. Although we can't forget our wine Anahí, a semi-sweet white created and made in tribute to his mother.

This young project soon takes shape and is called Bodegas Javier San Pedro Ortega. An innovative winery with a young team looking to surprise and differentiate itself from the classic Rioja wine.

We feel that our wines have to tell a story. We want our wines to be authentic, innovative and unique. That transmit the expression and authenticity of our land. Elaborating and raising them with the utmost respect, but from a dynamic and current vision.

Tasting notes anahi rosé

Salmon color with pinkish hues. Delicious with tropical touches like pineapple and reminiscent of peach. Very balanced, pleasant and fresh.

It is made exclusively with grapes of the Tempranillo variety, from Ollauri, Briones, Rodezno, Haro and Villalba estates, grown in sustainable viticulture on clay-calcareous soils, north of Rioja Alta, benefiting from the Atlantic influence characteristic of the region. After a manual harvest, the destemmed but whole grapes ferment and macerate in cement tanks; Afterwards, a third of the wine ages for 19 months in French oak barrels with light and medium toasts. Finally, it is transferred back to cement to settle and stabilize naturally for 12 months before bottling.

Tasting notes Valenciso red reserva

Wine reserve red Picota cherry color with a high robe garnet rim. Very clean and bright, this red wine with forms dense tears in the glass. With a suggestive complexity and elegance, the juicy and tasty red fruit appears little by little interspersed with black fruit jam. We also find balsamic notes, liquorice and aging notes. Its attack is elegant and tasty, with a enveloping, silky and voluminous on the palate, full-bodied. It has a lively acidity and sweet, velvety tannins and is very long, leaving lingering memories of fruit and sweet spices. Bodegas Riojanas controls more than 300 hectares. Of the best vineyards in Cenicero, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby towns. The grape that is par excellence harvested in Rioja is Tempranillo, but Bodegas Riojanas also has one of the largest extensions dedicated to Mazuelo and Graciano within the Denomination, varieties that give the wines it produces a greater personality. The different vineyard plots are located on clay-calcareous soils, of Miocene origin, suitable for producing the highest qualities. In early October, once the heat of summer has passed, the harvest takes place, which is more than just simple harvesting the grapes. The choice of the optimal time for harvesting, the productivity of the vines, the selection of the grape consignments destined to elaborate the different types of wine from the winery ... Everything will influence the characteristics and final quality of the wines obtained. The grape consignments from old vineyards are collected in boxes, to prevent the pressure produced by the weight from breaking the grape grains and arriving in the best conditions at the winery. Once there, they undergo a meticulous manual selection bunch by bunch, thus producing the wines that constitute the maximum exponent of quality at Bodegas Riojanas.

Manual harvest in small boxes of ten kilograms capacity. Cooling in a cold chamber until the temperature of the grapes reaches 3 ° C. Pazo Señorans, today converted into a winery, is a magnificent representative of the 16th century manor houses, built in the countryside with all the charm and lordship of bygone eras.The winery launched its first harvest in 1989. and the winery, initially owned by the couple formed by Marisol Bueno and Javier Mareque (now also in the hands of their four children, Marisol, Vicky, Javier and Santiago), began its winemaking career in 1989, although the cultivation of the vineyard was starts earlier.
