Winter water reserves allowed the grape to reach the end of the cycle in a balanced way despite the heat and drought of the summer. The rains in mid-September slowed ripening and favored the alcoholic and phenolic balance of the grape. It was a decisive turning point for obtaining a high quality harvest since, after that date, the weather was very favorable for making this Grand Reserve.
The elaborated wines were characterized by their great aging potential thanks to the magnificent balance of their components. The official rating of this vintage was very good.
The grapes were collected in boxes and transported to the winery in refrigerated trucks to preserve all their integrity. After a gentle de-stemming and crushing, the must passed stainless steel tanks.
where they carried out alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature for 17 days. The selected batches then completed malolactic fermentation naturally in 78 days.
In April 2010, the selected wines were transferred to 4-year-old American-made oak barrels, where they remained until April 2014. During their aging, they were racked every six months by
the traditional method from barrel to barrel. The final coupage was bottled in November 2014
Tasting Notes Gran reserva 904
It stands out for its intense, clean and bright cherry red color. On the nose we discover a bouquet of great aromatic complexity, with balsamic notes of vanilla, toasted caramel, minty chocolate, tea leaf and cinnamon that gives way to an elegant memory of compote fruits and prunes. Its passage through the mouth is unctuous, balanced, with a harmonious freshness and with soft and tame tannins that leave an elegant and complex finish in the mouth. Main dishes, all kinds of meat and stews and desserts with chocolate coating. Ideal as a tabletop glass. Serving temperature: 17ºC
