Velvety middle layer. On the palate blunt toasted and persistent toasted notes very well blended with ripe fruit. Intense, earthy and without edges. Good tannin, very pleasant on the palate. Very balanced.

This wine is the fruit of the selection of three grape varieties: Tempranillo 85%, Graciano 10% and Garnacha 5%. The harvest was carried out manually by own personnel, selecting all the bunches first in the vineyard and then on the selection table in the cellar.The selected bunches were subjected to mechanical destemming in a stainless sieve and soft squeezing using rubber rollers to break the grain. . Fermented in “Allier” wooden vats for 11 days at a temperature between 24º and 28ºC, it remained in the presence of the skins for another 20 days, obtaining a structured wine with noble tannin that will lead to a long life of our wine. Aged for 18 months in new French and American oak barrels, it remained in storage for a few months until bottling, and afterwards, before leaving the market, it remained for 18 months resting in our bottle rack.Tasting Notes 200 Monges reserve
Cherry red, garnet rim. Aroma of red fruits (cherry, raspberry). Very fine oak, brown, chocolate. Powerful, spicy, tasty, complex, balanced, long and persistent on the palate. We recommend uncorking and decanting between 30 and 45 minutes before, in order to appreciate its full aromatic potential. 54,680 bottles of 0.75l, 1,200 magnums have been selected from this wine of 1.50l and 120 double magnum of 3l. Bodegas Riojanas controls more than 300 hectares. Of the best vineyards in Cenicero, San Vicente de la Sonsierra and nearby towns. The grape that is par excellence harvested in Rioja is Tempranillo, but Bodegas Riojanas also has one of the largest extensions dedicated to Mazuelo and Graciano within the Denomination, varieties that give the wines it produces a greater personality. The different vineyard plots are located on clay-calcareous soils, of Miocene origin, suitable for producing the highest qualities. In early October, once the heat of summer has passed, the harvest takes place, which is more than just simple harvesting the grapes. The choice of the optimal time for harvesting, the productivity of the vines, the selection of the grape consignments destined to elaborate the different types of wine from the winery ... Everything will influence the characteristics and final quality of the wines obtained. The grape consignments from old vineyards are collected in boxes, to prevent the pressure produced by the weight from breaking the grape grains and arriving in the best conditions at the winery. Once there, they undergo a meticulous manual selection bunch by bunch, thus producing the wines that constitute the maximum exponent of quality at Bodegas Riojanas.
