Characteristics

The grapes come from vines planted at an altitude of 550 meters, at the foot of the mountain Alce, municipality of Alfaro, in La Rioja baja.Sus soils are mainly calcareous, clay-ferrous and with much presence of pebbles. The climate is Mediterranean, with influence of the Atlantic, with a large temperature difference between winter and summer, which allows an excellent maturation of the grape. The harvest is done manually, taking advantage of the low-intensity hours of sunlight to keep the grapes fresh Once in the cellar, the grape is destemmed and goes through a selection process before performing a maceration at low temperature for 23 days to extract all the aromas.

Tasting Notes La montesa

The vintage was characterized by high summer temperatures. After a mild winter with little rainfall, spring started with a lot of rainfall, which favored the vegetative growth of the vine. During the summer they suffered very high temperatures and absence of precipitation, obtaining a great sanitary state of the vineyard. As a general result we have a balanced year, where the final absence of rains led to a good concentration of matter. This year is characterized by a vintage with volume that can be enjoyed from his youth.
