Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia was born in 2004 as a result of the union of Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Barón Edmond de Rothschild Wine Company. Both firms share the idea of making great wines in Rioja, a unique, singular and inimitable wine region. After a period of five years of studying terroirs and acquiring vineyards, the project took shape in 2009: it is the first vintage of our two wines, Macán and Macán Clásico. The definitive launch of the brand occurs in 2013, with the release of the first bottles on the market. The latest milestone is the construction of the winery, in the town of Samaniego, underway since 2016.
