It would be difficult to date the beginning of my family's connection with the world of vine and wine. Possibly several centuries have seen many of them plowing, pruning or harvesting the red lands of Badarán, to obtain the best possible fruit from the grape. A privileged plain for growing grapes, close to San Millán de la Cogolla, in the heart of Rioja Alta.
Exceptional terrain, height and climate conditions, where our Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viura and Maturana Tinta vineyards allow the Martínez Alesanco Family to produce a wide range of wines that would be impossible to obtain in a different environment.
In the old cellars that we still keep in the family, a young Angela Martínez Alesanco appears along with her parents Pedro Martínez and Pilar Alesanco, tireless workers from whom she inherited her entrepreneurial spirit, perfection and wisdom.
Many years have passed since Pilar Alesanco, our grandmother, prepared food for the whole family on grape harvest days. Many things have changed and many people are no longer there, but we retain their way of working, their way of harvesting the grapes, of caring for the vines and their memory.
Tasting Notes Martinez Alesanco reserve
Blackcurrant, blackberry and ripe cherry that together with the vanilla of the wood evolve slowly showing the great aromatic complexity of this sweet wine that leaves the palate imbued with flavors.
View: Garnet red of medium high layer, well covered with ruby reflections.
Smell: High aromatic expression in a wine that evolves slowly in the glass, gradually showing its fruit aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry, ripe cherry), balsamic touches, background wood vanilla and mineral touches.
Mouth: Fresh entry, sweet wine thanks to those nuances of cocoa and vanilla fruit from its passage through the barrel. Long aftertaste that leaves the palate imbued with a complex range of aromas that invite you to drink.
