Plot of 1 ha. planted in 1946 at 680 m. altitude with low production.
Elaboration in tanks of 3500 L. of French oak. Cold maceration for 3 days at 9-10º C, with long pumping over. On the 4th day the fermentation begins for 15 days at a controlled temperature (20-23ºC) to preserve the primary aromas. After this, the deposits are kept macerating for 6 days with a daily watering of the hat. Malolactic fermentation in barrels.

Nice cherry red color. Elegant combination of aromas of ripe fruit, spicy notes of aging and mineral tones, with a touch of toast. Perfect union of fruit and wood. Body and power in the mouth, meaty, balanced, with noble tannins, wide and long. Very pleasant aftertaste.

This wine is the fruit of the selection of three grape varieties: Tempranillo 85%, Graciano 10% and Garnacha 5%. The harvest was carried out manually by own personnel, selecting all the bunches first in the vineyard and then on the selection table in the cellar.The selected bunches were subjected to mechanical destemming in a stainless sieve and soft squeezing using rubber rollers to break the grain. . Fermented in “Allier” wooden vats for 11 days at a temperature between 24º and 28ºC, it remained in the presence of the skins for another 20 days, obtaining a structured wine with noble tannin that will lead to a long life of our wine. Aged for 18 months in new French and American oak barrels, it remained in storage for a few months until bottling, and afterwards, before leaving the market, it remained for 18 months resting in our bottle rack.Tasting Notes 200 Monges reserve
Cherry red, garnet rim. Aroma of red fruits (cherry, raspberry). Very fine oak, brown, chocolate. Powerful, spicy, tasty, complex, balanced, long and persistent on the palate. We recommend uncorking and decanting between 30 and 45 minutes before, in order to appreciate its full aromatic potential. 54,680 bottles of 0.75l, 1,200 magnums have been selected from this wine of 1.50l and 120 double magnum of 3l. Located in the South of Monte Yerga, the Finca Cuesta de la Reina is a caralsol hillside that begins at 450 meters of altitude and ascends to 800 meters. Its soils are clay-calcareous, poor and with abundant boulders, it is a farm of more than 120 hectares that has been in the family for four generations and in which the vineyard has always been cultivated. Approximate average age of the vineyards 25 years.After a meticulous monitoring of the vineyard, the grapes are harvested at the optimum moment of maturation.The Tempranillo variety was harvested the first fortnight of October, the Garnacha in mid-October and the Mazuelo the last. week of October and first of November. Color red tile of good layer. Clean, complex and with good intensity on the nose, aromas of red fruits well combined with those of aging, balsamic, spices (pepper), tobacco and leather. Good structure, tasty, wide, smooth but with character and a good harmony in its flavors. Complex and clean via retronasal.
