The grapes come from our Pagos in Rioja Alavesa, vineyards that are located around the new Viña Real winery. After a series of careful work in the vineyard and a good selection, we obtained some grapes of excellent quality, which allowed us to make this great wine. The variety is 100% Tempranillo, manual harvest in boxes and fermentation in small-capacity tanks, which allows us good control of the fermentation. Later, this wine passes into new French oak barrels where it carries out malolactic fermentation and where it remains for 18 months.

Tasting Notes Viña Real Payments

Intense burgundy maroon color. Attractive aromatic intensity with a wide variety of black fruits and licorice well complemented by fresh aromas from Atlantic forests such as cedar, cloves, cigar leaf, roasted coffee, etc. It shows a modern elegance that encourages us to taste it. The palate is fresh on the palate with a step marked by tannin and an acidity finish that leaves us with a long and complex aftertaste. It is a wine that does not need pairing, drinking it alone will give us a certain delight since in the glass it will gradually express its great aromatic variety.

General information

I am a farm wine made in limited production during the excellent harvest years. The Florentino Martínez family brings me to the world with the best Tempranillo grapes from their “Carasol Valdemerque” farm. They make me by the traditional method of de-stemmed grapes. Macero and ferment in tank for 25 days at controlled temperature. Two months later I am already sleeping in Rioja oak barrels, coming from the Distercios mountains, near the winery. My dream, with two racking, lasts 24 months. Finally I move to the glass where I rest and refine my bouquet for one, two or three years.

Tasting Notes Distercio reserve

My appearance is an intense maroon color, with a good coat and cherry-colored trim. I release aromas of Rioja, red berries, licorice and spices of my dreams in wood. In the mouth I am fleshy, with persistent structure and tannin, fruit and toasted notes of good intensity. With the passage of time and a slight aeration you will enjoy more with me, always at a temperature around 17ºC.

General information

Dominio de Pingus is a small winery in the DO Ribera del Duero, founded by Danish agronomist and winemaker Peter Sisseck. They work in an absolutely artisanal way, looking for a very low production, focusing on achieving excellent results in each of their wines. The result of this is Pingus, today one of the most sought-after and coveted wines in the world. The grapes come from select old vines between 50 and 70 years of age of the Tinta de Toro variety. It is a question of a few plots of very little production and of only 5 hectares of extension in the towns of Pesquera and Roa. The grapes are harvested manually and only those grains that are at the optimum ripening point are selected, which will give the wine a very special character, with a lot of fruit concentration. Pingus undergoes a completely natural fermentation, thus maintaining the aroma and flavor of the grape before going to the barrels where it will carry out its malolactic fermentation.

Tasting Notes Pingus

The 2017 vintage has been characterized by being warm and dry. The water reserves started low and became more acute in July and August, where it was extremely dry except for some heavy rains towards the beginning of the harvest. But without a doubt what marked the year was the frost that affected a large part of the Ribera del Duero on April 28, just after the overflow and with a weak vegetable mass. It marked the vegetative and flowering growth for the whole year with production losses between 70% and 80%.
This accident was followed by very warm months of June and July. Due to the disadvantages of the vintage, the grape produced has been of a smaller size. And according to Peter Sisseck "an early harvest, with ripe aromas, great extract and low acidity" Regarding the PSI, due to the great frost that occurred in Ribera de Duero, they have had to look for new areas that are within the DO like Burgos and Soria.

General information

Dominio de Pingus is a small winery located 30 kilometers from Roa, in the DO Ribera del Duero, where the precious Peter Sisseck wines are made, where due to their artisanal production and low productions, they allow them to strive for high quality of the final product. The secret of these wines is found in the old vineyards of Tinto Fino that are grown on the small plot of five hectares and in a very controlled selection of the grapes, both in the vineyard and in the winery. The stemming is done by hand, stripping the grapes. most mature of each cluster. The maceration and fermentation process lasts about twenty days, and then it goes to the barrels for malolactic fermentation and aging, in which the wine rests for 18 months in new French oak barrels.
