The idea of Hacienda Monasterio arises in 1990, Peter Sisseck arrives in Ribera del Duero to direct the winery and plant the vineyards. Two years later Carlos de la Fuente joined the team as Peter's right hand man. The farm consists of 167 hectares, 108 of which are planted with vineyards. It is located halfway between the towns of Pesquera and Valbuena de Duero, known worldwide as "the golden mile" for the high quality of its wines. At the end of the 19th century, the estate was part of the family properties Lecanda, a pioneer in the area's new winemaking tradition, the winery, built between 1991 and 1992, was designed by the French architect Philippe Mazières, who had previously worked in wineries as prestigious as Château Margaux, Château d'Yquem Prieure -Léchiné.

Tasting Notes Hacienda Monasterio reserva

Intense and bright red almost opaque. Complex aromas and minerals with a very ripe fruit with toasted notes provided by the aging in barrel. The entry into the mouth is smooth, giving way to an intense structure and sweet tannins. Long and persistent finish, maintaining a black and ripe fruit. It came with a great structure, with potential for aging.

This wine has been aged for 12 months in American and French oak barrels, with dominance of American oak over French. Complete aging for a minimum period of 6 months in the bottle

Tasting Notes Alcorta Crianza

View: Bright cherry color. Nose: On the nose the varietal aromas of red fruit such as raspberry, cherries and spices stand out. Mouth: In the mouth it has a silky and pleasant entry with a sweetly tannic outburst and a long finish.

The first selection of the best grapes is made in the vineyard, and when we arrive at the winery, we make a second selection on treadmill. Destemming, crushing and cold maceration are followed by alcoholic fermentation that lasts 10 days, followed by another two weeks. wine maceration with its solid parts to get more structure and color. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation before the aging process begins. Zinio Reserva spends 18 months in French and American oak barrels that were toasted according to the specific instructions of our winemaker. For the last two years, it remained in the bottle where it finished refining.

Tasting Notes zinio reserva

It is an intense garnet-colored wine, with a very attractive nose that combines ripe fruits with sweet spices and aromatic herbs, such as thyme or rosemary. Coconut, toffee, chocolate and cocoa notes also appear. In the mouth it is dense, broad, tasty and persistent.

Manual harvest in 12 kg boxes of grapes from vineyards with an average age of 60 years and low yields in 12 kg boxes. Controlled temperature prior to fermentation in cold rooms specially designed for this for a period of 24 hours (4-6 degrees). Selection of grapes on the table and separation of shoulders and ends. This wine has been made from the destemmed shoulders. Fermentation in small stainless steel tanks and 7,000 liter French oak vats. Obtained through an extraction system without oxidation or friction thanks to a membrane bag filled with water (system developed by the winery itself)
