Castillo Ygay Blanco Gran Reserva Especial 1986, an authentic jewel made by Marqués de Murrieta, has obtained 100 Parker Points, becoming the first white wine in the history of Spain to achieve them and crowning itself as the Emperor of the wines of Spain.
After being tasted by Luis Gutiérrez, the critic responsible for the publication of Robert Parker 'The Wine Advocate' in Spain assures that it is "one of the best white wines I have ever tasted in my entire life". Castillo Ygay Blanco Gran Reserva Especial 1986 stands as the only wine that reaches the highest score, a feat even more difficult if it is a white wine.

The grapes used are Tempranillo 85%, Graciano 10% and Mazuelo 5%, harvested manually in 15kg boxes. From vineyards whose average age is over 45 years old. The wine is aged in new French and American oak barrels for a minimum of 30 months, subsequently remaining at least 40 months in our bottle racks. We recommend uncorking and decanting about 30 minutes before, in order to fully appreciate its full aromatic potential. Very covered cherry color, lively and with a slight orange tint. On the nose it has an aroma reminiscent of ripe fruit, compote and with slight balsamic undertones. Bodegas Toro Albalá was born in the heart of the Cordoba countryside in 1922. The acquisition of vineyards and plots suitable for growing grapes is Benjamin's passion. Contador Winery has more than fifty plots with different soils, microclimates, orientations, altitudes, varieties and clones, which allow to obtain highly complex wines. Most of the vines are conducted in glass, the pruning method traditionally used in La Rioja. The winegrowers of Bodega Contador leave a single bud per thumb, to limit production and enhance the quality of the grape.The land is tilled an average of six times a year, between pruning and ripening, depending on the circumstances. of each season.
