General information
The official 'Excellent' rating of this vintage coincides with our appreciation of the winery. After sprouting on regular dates, moderate and well-distributed rains in spring led to a correct vegetative development that lasted until fruit set, helping to balance production. The September temperatures, moderate during the day and cool at night, allowed the grapes to obtain the typical characteristics of this area of Rioja. During this 2005, we implemented important improvements in the harvesting system, such as the collection in 350-kg boxes and its refrigerated transport to the winery, allowing a significant qualitative leap in the production process, evident in all wines but, especially, in the Grand Reserves.
Tasting Notes Gran reserva 890
Ruby red color with an incipient tile border. Its aroma is classic, intense, with notes of cured leather, plum and raisin compotes, tobacco and sweet spices, vanilla and dark chocolate. Its passage through the mouth is elegant, mature and complex. It stands out for its structure as well as its balanced acidity and silky tannins. Its classic Rioja bouquet stands out, broad, complex round and elegant finish. A Gran Reserva 890 with a magnificent present and a promising future.
