General Information

With this wine, we have recovered the historical greatness of the Gran Reserva of Rioja, leading this new generation of wines that have only been produced in 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2009, magical years that have helped us to put it at the top of the Gran Reservas of our denomination. 90% Tempranillo and 10% Garnacha varieties from our own vineyards in Badarán. They are “magic” harvests in which the grapes evolve perfectly, knowing that it will become a historic year until the hand of the winemaker and experience turns it into an immortal wine.

Made from Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, selected from low production vines over 50 years old that have fermented in new American oak barrels for 8 months, followed by aging for 24 months in new French oak barrels that are removed when the wine is extracted from them.

Tasting Notes Martinez Alesanco gran reserva

Intense garnet colour and deep layer with slight ageing nuances. Enormous aromatic complexity, very ripe red fruits wrapped in fine toast. In the mouth it is a sweet-toothed wine, red fruit jam, wrapped in hints of cocoa and vanilla from its time in the barrel. Long aftertaste with subtle and complex wooden tones that let you taste the ripe fruit that floods the palate as it passes through.
